Making my 1st trip to the track tonight. I've been reading well-nigh guys breaking sprags doing 1-2 gear burnouts. I have a balmy build Th350, 2800 stall transgo kit. Some say put it in drive and slowly go tires going to get information technology in high gear and drive out. Others say blindside 1-2 and drive out in 2d.
I'm only about 325-350hp at the crank, and on 275 DR'south. I don't feel similar breaking crap tonight since I gotta bulldoze it home....any input volition help....I'chiliad hoping Jake chimes in hither.

I take had good success with minor burnouts with elevate radials and I bypass the h2o box.
Merely
If you are trying to exist overnice to the sprag (mine was hardened so I did non worry) do every bit Mattie says. Plenty to rut a little and dry out them out completely.

Mine liked 12-15psi on a 3660lb auto. I was told by BFG too much current of air upwardly on the sidewall is no good on a heavy car. It was true with mine but your results may vary.

.

Haven't used a 350 in a long time, merely when I did, I did the one-two-three deal.
Only ran 12'south, and never hurt anything.

That being said, I now do high gear merely burnouts.
Much easier on parts as mentioned.
At your level you might demand low to get on the tire quick???
I definitely would non come out in 2nd, that would make me nervous??
I desire the engine rpm as low as possible, so why ane-two only???

Since you take an autotrans, not much you tin practise, exit in drive,
go up on the tire quick, and control the rpm's best you can.

What was the reason for doing the burnout slowly????
That has never worked for me, I would go sideways.

Race safe, and have fun!!!!!!!!!!

I practice every bit Mattie suggested, I practice not do a big burn out every bit I run mildly soft compound slicks and with getting a little fume it hooks. I pull through beginning spinning go upward into 3rd bump forward a human foot or so while spinning and allow off the brakes and run information technology out till it grabs. (Usually within a few feet).

A big thing is keeping your burnout consistant, if you don't it is throwing some other variable into the mix

Well...made 8 passes. No broken stuff. Machine hooked great untill rails got really cold. Best was a 13.495. I'k happy with that. At present I want more than! Fourth dimension to put information technology on a diet, and add together some more power. All in all, great nighttime. I'm hooked!
